Nitrogen tire inflation in Vernon

Nitrogen Tire Inflation in Vernon, BC

If you are trying to keep tire pressure steadier through Vernon heat, winter cold snaps, highway driving or seasonal storage, nitrogen can give you a small but real edge. It is not magic, and correct pressure still matters most. We purge, refill and set your tires properly.

Why nitrogen

Small benefits, honestly explained.

Nitrogen does not replace regular pressure checks or fix a leaking tire. It can help pressure stay more consistent, especially when tires sit, travel far, or move between temperature swings.

Stable pressure

Nitrogen is less affected by normal temperature swings than regular compressed air with moisture in it. That can mean steadier pressure from cold mornings to warmer afternoons.

Slower loss

Nitrogen molecules seep through tire rubber a little more slowly than oxygen. You still check pressure, just with a bit more time between corrections.

Less moisture

A proper nitrogen fill is dry, so there is less moisture inside the tire. That helps reduce internal rim corrosion over time.

Highway steadiness

On longer highway drives, dry nitrogen can help pressure behave more predictably as tires warm up. It is a modest benefit, not a cure for overloading or underinflation.

Pressure held

Fuel economy and tread wear are best when tires stay at the right pressure. Nitrogen can help hold that correct setting longer between checks.

Seasonal storage

Winter tire swaps, fleet vehicles and seasonal storage are good fits. Tires that sit for weeks or months benefit from pressure that drifts more slowly.

What the service involves

A proper purge, refill and pressure set.

We can add nitrogen during a tire install, at a seasonal swap, or as a standalone service on tires already on your vehicle.

Purge and refill

We remove as much regular air as practical and refill with nitrogen, instead of just adding a small amount on top.

Pressure set

Each tire is set to the correct pressure for your vehicle, using the door placard and the tire application as the guide.

Top-ups

If your nitrogen-filled tires need adjustment later, we can top them up and check whether pressure loss looks normal.

Existing tires

You do not need special tires. Nitrogen works with the tires already on your car, light truck or SUV.

Install option

Add it when buying tires, during a seasonal changeover, or as a separate visit if you want the pressure-stability benefit.

Green caps

We install green valve caps so the tires are easy to identify as nitrogen-filled during future service or pressure checks.

The M.A.P. promise

The benefit, not the upsell.

Nitrogen can be oversold as if it fixes every tire problem, from leaks to fuel costs. It does not. We are an authorized Motorist Assurance Program service centre, so the recommendation matches the tire, the use and the inspection.

If regular air is enough for your driving, we will say that. Correct pressure matters more than the gas inside the tire.

Nitrogen questions, answered

Straight answers before you decide.

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call the shop and ask.

Is nitrogen better than regular air?

It can be a little better for pressure stability and moisture control. It is not a dramatic upgrade, and properly inflated tires matter more than whether they are filled with nitrogen or air.

Will nitrogen stop my tire from leaking?

No. A puncture, bead leak, valve issue or cracked wheel still needs repair. Nitrogen may slow normal pressure loss, but it will not fix a damaged tire or wheel.

Can I mix air with nitrogen?

Yes. If you are low and only regular air is available, add air rather than driving underinflated. We can restore the nitrogen fill later.

How often should I check nitrogen-filled tires?

Check them at least monthly and before long trips. Nitrogen can reduce pressure drift, but tire pressure still changes and should not be ignored.

Is nitrogen worthwhile for winter tires?

It can be a good fit for winter swaps and stored seasonal sets because pressure tends to drift more slowly. We still set and check pressures at installation.

Do you offer nitrogen on all makes?

Yes. Domestic and import, cars, light trucks and SUVs. We are a full-service auto centre in Vernon, not a tire-only shop.
